In response to years of stinky diapers, fits of teen rage, and ever increasing college tuition demands that border on entitlement-run-amuk, a group of US parents have banded together to form a new, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charity, Save the Parents.
“Save the Parents is designed to provide financial wellness programs and mental support networks for adults of children who are increasingly entitled, spoiled, and dang-near oblivious to how their actions are ruining pretty much every aspect of adult life” said Edith Coodlemeyer, a group founder.
“We’re tired of groups, like Save the Children, running around vilifying parents so that they can collect their ill-gotten donations from dupes who really have no idea that it is the parents who really need saving” said Bartholomew Feastings, another founder of the group and its first spokesperson.
With their new motto, “take back the basement,” Save the Parents plans to organize demonstrations in all fifty US state capitals over the next year. According to Barbara Letterfenster, head of Save the Parent’s new lobbying arm, “We also need political protection because we’re just getting our butts handed to us every day by these freakin’ kids and no one cares; we’re a forgotten problem in modern America.” She added, “if you save a parent, you’ll save the child too.”
The group points out that the media reinforces anti-parent stereotypes and is organizing a boycott of all things Disney. “That [Disney] company is nothing more than a menace to society,” says Bob Funk, a local organizer from Hunkalotta, New York. “Have you ever seen any of their programming? Every parent is a moron and needs help from their omniscient ten-year-old in order to make a living and solve basic family problems. This is wacked.”
